2024 GMC Acadia Overview
The 2024 GMC Acadia makes a bold reentry into the three-row midsize SUV arena, standing tall against rivals like the Ford Explorer and Kia Telluride. Now riding on the same platform as the Chevy Traverse, it boasts a larger footprint and a robust turbocharged engine that edges out its Chevy counterpart in power. Updates to the all-new Acadia’s design extend to its interior, where quality and technology enhancements mark an exciting departure from the prior model’s finishes. Additionally, the third-generation Acadia offers increased cargo space, including a notable storage area behind the third-row seats. The rugged AT4 trim continues to cater to adventurous customers of the Glen Alpine GMC dealer, with increased ride height and protective underbody skid plates.
The GMC Acadia seats up to eight passengers and is offered in four trim levels: Elevation, Elevation Premium, AT4, and Denali. All models are powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four engine generating 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front- or all-wheel drive. According to the Glen Alpine Chevrolet GMC dealer, this powertrain surpasses the previous model’s available V6. It offers an extra 13 hp over its Chevrolet counterpart. GMC integrates Super Cruise on select trims for hands-free driving. The AT4 trim, designed for the trails, includes an advanced all-wheel-drive system, an enhanced suspension, protective skid plates, and specialized driving modes for challenging terrains.
As of this writing, we don’t have an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating for the 2024 GMC Acadia. We expect the numbers to beat the figures of the outgoing V6, which returned 19 city mpg city/26 mpg highway.*
The 2024 GMC Acadia’s revamped interior showcases an upgraded interior that surpasses its predecessor in luxury and technology. GMC’s strategic redesign aligns the Acadia with its larger GM siblings, like the Chevy Traverse and Buick Enclave, effectively offering a more spacious three-row interior that rivals a minivan’s utility without compromising style. Further enhancing its appeal, the Acadia introduces optional second-row captain’s chairs across its lineup, with a Smart Slide feature for easier access to the third row. The interior design reflects GMC’s rugged yet premium aesthetic, featuring a standard 15-inch central touchscreen, an 11-inch digital gauge cluster, and available features such as perforated leather seats, laser-etched wood trim, a panoramic sunroof, and a 16-speaker Bose audio system.

The Acadia’s robust and elegant design is similar to the Yukon’s. Its squared-off silhouette enhances its appeal, offering a slightly different appearance across trims. The rugged AT4 variant boasts dark accents and all-terrain features for off-road readiness, while the luxurious Denali trim dazzles with Galvano Silver highlights and available 22-inch wheels.
