The 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500HD comes in four trim levels: Work Truck, LTZ, LT, and High Country. The base 6.6-liter V8 engine produces 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. It’s teamed to a six-speed automatic gearbox. An available Duramax diesel 6.6-liter V8 generating 445 hp and 910 lb-ft is coupled to an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. Both engines offer rear- or four-wheel drive and single-rear-wheel axle or dually configurations.
The EPA doesn’t conduct fuel economy tests on trucks like the 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500HD. Nevertheless, Car and Driver assessed the similar Silverado 2500HD model with the 6.6-liter V8 engine. It checked in with 14 mpg on the highway. When fitted with the diesel engine, the truck returned 19 mpg highway.
Enhancing the towing experience, the Silverado 3500HD comes with an array of trailering and driver assistance features.
