For 2020, the Silverado 1500 gets even more room, more features and more engines to choose from. The Silverado’s new Vertical Trailering Mirrors make towing even easier than ever. According to the Morganton Chevy dealer, the Silverado features class-leading towing, with a maximum capacity of 13,400 pounds. The most exciting development is the Silverado’s new optional 3.0-liter diesel engine.

The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is available in eight trim levels, listed as Work Truck (WT), Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ and High Country. There are three cab styles: Regular cab, Double cab and Crew cab. Regular cab models come with an 8-foot cargo bed, while Double cabs get a 6-foot 6-inch bed. Crew cab models can choose between a 5-foot 8-inch box or the 6-foot 6-inch bed. We’ll examine the different trim levels and see what each one offers buyers.

The Silverado 1500 WT is powered by a 4.3-liter V6 engine that makes 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The WT comes with cloth or vinyl seats, 17-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, a 7-inch color touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker audio system and Bluetooth.

The Custom trim starts with the features of the WT and adds 20-inch painted aluminum wheels, power and heated mirrors, a body-color styling theme, cruise control, LED signature taillamps and front tow hooks. Integrated dual exhaust is optional.

The Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss trim is only offered with four-wheel drive. It gets all the features of the Custom trim, plus a blacked-out appearance and off-road equipment. The Custom Trail Boss comes with a 2-inch lifted suspension and the Z71 Off Road package, which includes 18-inch black wheels, Rancho shocks, a locking rear differential, skid plates, hill descent control and Goodyear Duratrac off-road tires.

The Silverado 1500 LT trim is powered by a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates 310 hp and 348 lb-ft of torque, matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Standard features include a tailgate damper, LED headlights, daytime running lights and an 8-inch color touchscreen.

The Silverado 1500 RST trim starts with the features of the LT and adds 22-inch wheels, body-color trim, an exclusive street-performance appearance, remote start, in-bed lighting, and a power-locking and power-release tailgate.

The Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss trim is powered by a 5.3-liter V8 engine that produces 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The LT Trail Boss gets the features of the LT, plus a blacked-out appearance and off-road equipment. Standard features include a 2-inch lifted suspension, 18-inch black wheels, and the contents of the Z71 suspension and trailering packages.

The Silverado 1500 LTZ trim comes with leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a heated tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, heated front seats, power-folding and heated outside rearview mirrors, a higher-definition rearview camera, a navigation system, a trailer brake controller and two 120-volt power outlets.

The top-of-the-line High Country trim gets the features of the LTZ trim and adds ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, a spray-on bedliner, a power-up-and-down tailgate, a Bose audio system with seven speakers and wireless phone charging.

A 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel engine that generates 277 hp and 460 lb-ft and a and a 6.2-liter V8 that develops 420 hp and 460 lb-ft are available. Both engines are joined to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. The High Country trim with four-wheel-drive and the 5.3-liter V8 also gets the 10-speed automatic.
